Candid Family Moments: Backyard Lifestyle Photo Session // The P Family

Watching littles like Genevieve and baby Isaac bring about deep thoughts of — one day, they're going to be my age. They'll be so much older than they are in this moment — the memory of playing in their backyard of their childhood home will be a very distant memory. They'll have adult lives with adult responsibilities, they'll have learned so much — seen so much, experienced endless things and have a whole collection of memories behind them. Their parents, Amber and Andrew, will be older too...and they'll have gotten a front row seat to the greatest show they'll ever witness — watching their children grow up and experience all that life has to offer.

These sweet babies won't remember me, the silly blonde lady with the camera, but they're going to have these photos I created to let them steal a glance back into the past. Life is a blur, and right now — they innocently don't know that, it's beautiful and wonderful, and I'm so grateful for chances like this morning — to pause these little moments.

These barely guided, in home, or in the backyard, documentary approach style family photos…are literally my favorite way to document families. This is the real stuff you guys — and it may seem so basic, but it’s these moments that make up a whole lifetime, and they are so worth documenting!
