Summer Engagement Photos at The Nelson Atkins, Kansas City // Delaney + Calvin

Given that Delaney and Calvin were collegiate runners...the joke that will never die between them, is Calvin saying he originally found Delaney "on the side of the road" — having spotted her on a long run with a mutual friend that, at the time, they didn't know they shared. Chatting briefly that day led to Calvin putting his detective hat on, and finding out more about Delaney...ultimately getting in touch with her and kicking off a lot of talking and texting. Delaney jokes that it took Calvin a while to get to the point of all this talking, and when he finally did... he let one minor detail slip his mind. Being a runner meant she often went to bed early to get enough sleep for those morning runs. So, the point of all that texting finally comes out — but by then, Delaney was sound asleep. Poor Calvin ended up waiting the rest of the night and most of the next day to finally hear back... not to fret though, clearly it all worked out!! Delaney agreed to a first date, and when you have one as good as these two had... you know you're onto something!! And they're definitely onto something...like a lifelong happy marriage that kicks off in June to name just one ;)
