Summer Evening Wedding at The Bowery // Allyson + Desi
Each sent letters to one another on the afternoon of their wedding and ironically enough, both letters mirrored one anothers in certain ways. They both took the time to describe all the days of their relationship - the highs, the lows, the times they held each other up and the times they simply held on to one another because in that given moment, it was all that was needed.
Allyson's Mom helped her into her bridal gown and zipped up the back - knowing that of all the years spent dressing her little baby girl, helping to choose outfits, reminding her how beautiful she is - that moment right there of zipping up that dress was the most important moment of all. Once Allyson was in her dress, her Mom took one more look and reminded her once again of just how beautiful she is.
Allyson's Dad stood waiting for her at the very spot that in a few hours - he'd release her hand and place it in Desi's. When he turned to see his baby girl there was an immediate grin on his face and just like his wife, a reminder to Allyson - how beautiful she is, both inside and out, was said.
Then it was time for Allyson and Desi to see one another, and after that initial turnaround of Desi, the immediate head-to-toe goosebump reaction, lots of smiles and giggles, in true Desi fashion he threw in the comical need of asking her - "You come here often??" sending Allyson (and everyone nearby) into a huge laugh, doing what Desi does best - making Allyson beam with happiness.
This day was filled with so much happiness and so, so many little stories woven within the hours spent together and these here are just a few. Undoubtedly this day is a day Allyson and Desi...the new Mr. & Mrs. are going to remember and cherish for the rest of their lives - and then there's me, who can't possibly grasp how honored I was to stand, to witness, and to document this day!
This sweet moment between Allyson and her wonderful Mom was so great to witness!!
Anddd this moment…..right after the ceremony ended, when Allyson’s precious little Grandma wanted to come give her congratulatory messages and also talk about Allyson’s pretty bouquet! Love these moments so much!
