2021 // The Best of Weddings - Part One!
Well helllllooooo, we meet again! Another year, another wedding season behind me!! It was another jam packed one with 29 total weddings — which hey, do you realize that equates to 29 times I had to fight back tears over my amazing couples and their love story’s!? And that’s just me at weddings, let’s not even get started on how emotional I am on the regular lol. Wowwww this got personal quick, let’s get back on track!!
I’m sooo excited to share some of my favorites from just THE FIRST HALF — let me repeat that, this is just the first half lol — these posts get out of dang control so quickly with how long they are, so I always split them in halfsies!! And even with doing that, these posts still get crazy long, it is what it is lol. Why do they get so long you ask? Because ya girl can’t freakin narrow down shots lol.
Okay so here we go, first half of 2021 weddings!! And first up —
Amanda + Bradley
My first wedding of 2021!! I kicked things off with one of the sweetest and most loving couples I’ve ever known!! Also kicked things off at one of my favorite venues in the area, Lone Summit Ranch!! Prettiest day with the prettiest shade of purple I’ve ever seen for bridesmaid dresses!! Really in love with the last shot below — these two sharing an end-of-night smooch while holding sparklers!!
Rachel + Josh
Second wedding of 2021 and it ended up being a little bit on the chilly side!! The ring shot below is one of my all-time favorite ring shots!! The second ring shot in the Mrs velvet ring box… another all-time favorite! The shot of Rachel in her robe with her Truly.. haha, I love it, and kinda wish Truly would use it in their advertising, but like, pay me for it… haha, YO TRULY, I’m looking at you. So glad these guys were up for being out in the cold for just a little while all in the name of good photos!!
Kayla + Joey
It’s not often that a wedding day is beautifully timed SO well with Spring colors… but for Kayla and Joey, ohhh man did they get lucky! I’ve shot at their venue, Eighteen Ninety, so many times over the years and their wedding day colors outside were undoubtedly the prettiest I’ve ever seen, they got SO lucky!! The shots of them through the pink/purple blossoms — like all that pretty floral in the foreground, I had to stand on the tippiest tip of my tiptoes for those… lost my balance several times, totally worth it.
Katie + Andy
Loveeeee when there’s sufficient time before a ceremony, and we have the ability to get a little more creative and take a little more time for bridal portraits and such! Oh and trust me, I’m still swooning over those PLUS allllll of Katie and Andy’s couples portraits — definitely struggled to choose only a few!
Paxton + AJ
These two lovelies... were actually already married! And this whole beautiful set up, was actually a styled shoot! The likes of A-Vent Space, The Perfect Touch, Floriography, and Kate Smith Soiree… to name a few, were just some of the awesome people who came together and put this shoot together. I was brought in a little unexpectedly but I’m glad it worked out for me to be able to shoot this! Ellie + Kyle
Another wedding where choosing a few faves was impossible… cause from details to portraits, to ceremony to reception.. I loved everything!
Samantha + Connor
These two! Their sweet first look was just heartwarming — and all the moments between Samantha and her Dad, my goodness, melts my heart! The dance that Samantha did with her Mom too… ugh, my heart!
Abby + Brett
Prettttyyyy detail shots make me happy and these first two below, I LOVE!! After Abby and Brett’s ceremony, they skipped off in the rain for the main house at venue, Eighteen Ninety — and I followed like a curious and determined little…. monkey? Yeah I don’t know. Found them giggling and hugging in the house and didn’t dare open the door, just shot through the glass of the door instead — and let me tell ya, those shots are some of my most favorite shots I’ve ever taken in my life!
Lauren + Paul
This wedding…. all the usual things, all the pretty things, but then… GOATS. Could not have been more thrilled that Lauren wanted to go spend time with the farm animals because it was SO fun, SO unique and made for some really awesome photos!
Elizabeth + Jamie
These cute patriotic lovebirds!! Still obsessed over Liz’s heels!! I mean, how perfect are they!? The black & white shot of her getting into her dress surrounded by her best girls — LOVE, will always love. Jamie’s reaction to seeing her come down the aisle — my heart! And that cute excited celebratory shot of them with their wedding party is easily one of my favorite wedding party shots in history!
Kaitlin + Cameron
Probably one of the most laid back couples I’ve ever met — anddddd also one of the most laid-back weddings I’ve ever photographed! From start to finish, this whole day was just so relaxed and easy! Love days like that!! Also really love Kaitlin’s laugh :)
Rachel + Shawn
Rachel picked theeeee prettiest shade of blue for her bridesmaid dresses! I loved them!! The black & white candid shot of Rachel and Shawn with drinks in hand? That was moments after their ceremony and I LOVE that shot so much… so unplanned, so in the moment, so real! And I don’t know who the gal is that Rachel is pouring a drink down the throat of, but like… who wouldn’t want a pic like that? lol
Lani + Jake
Ohhh emotional first looks… Love ‘em! The guys and their cigars… always fun to get a little creative when the grooms party has fun cigars. These guys had some of theeeee most LUSH florals I’ve ever seen, wowwww! Just wait til you see those — Hawthorne House looks good all the time, but with THAT level of lush florals… uh, heart eyes!
Annie + Evan
My first ever brunch style wedding!! It was a hot one, but wow it was a special one. Annie and Evan put a lot of thought into this small brunch style affair, and it was so well done and so well executed. Always a joy to shoot at Wildcliff, too! Shots of Annie and Evan’s cute little picnic — LOVE!!
