Arizona Part Two // Sedona
Let me start off by saying that for the both of us, Sedona was our favorite! We had been told by many people that Sedona was SUCH an awesome area of Arizona, but we had no idea just how awesome! This is an area we are already mentally planning a second, longer trip to! It’s full of so much — sightseeing, excursions, a cool town, ENDLESS AMAZING HIKES, so many restaurants, quaint places and lively places alike.
The morning we went into Sedona, everyone in the family had mostly split up to do their own things. The drive in was so getting me in my feels, and reminding me in some ways of home, and Chimney Rock back in North Carolina. Once we were in the heart of Sedona we were mind blown! The plan was to visit a visitors center and get some info on hikes, so we pulled into a parking lot and boomwham, there were Wesley’s parents! They had ended up at the same visitors center! We all got the info we wanted and parted ways again!
Our first hike — Scheurman Mountain Trail! We literally pulled into the parking lot of a HIGH SCHOOL y’all. It was confusing, haha. But, as promised on the All Trails app, up beyond the parking lot was a dirt/gravel area to park in, and a trailhead — boom!
This hike was all uphill but it was only steep in certain areas, and we were literally the only people out there the entire time! That’s our kinda hike!!
After that above hike, we met up with the inlaws for lunch at a CUTE little small airport lounge restaurant. Mesa Grill at Sedona Airport! Great food — and right by the airstrip, watching small engine planes take off and land! No photos, but man, it’s another place we can’t wait to go back to!
The next day Wes and I got a little ballsy and went for a huge hike — it was a combination of two hikes, so we didn’t manage to do the entire thing cause that would’ve been quiteee a distance, but the stuff we saw on what we did hike was unbelievable! The following is a combo of hikes Soliders Pass and Brins Mesa!!
Early into the hikes, we found this………a giant hole. Look at that though — an actual section of this massive thing BROKE OFF people, so cool!
I probably don’t need to even explain my reaction to seeing this natural wonder — it was out of this world amazing and I was LOSING my mind!!
Onward we went!
SUCH AN AMAZING SET OF HIKES THAT WAS!

The next day was the same day that Wes and I were flying back, so we tried to get an early start so that we could go tackle one more cool hike, but this time, we partnered up with Kels and Paul! Us 4 went after The Devils Bridge, and ohhh mylanta. Just wait for it.
It started off on a wide dirt and somewhat rocky trail…..oh and a few Jeep tours came through haha
The further we went, the more rocks, and there eventually got to be a bit of an incline, some cairns (stacks of man-made rocks!), and the views just got better and better!!
At some point, we took a right turn and that’s when things got pretty dang awesome!
I took more photos on the walk back down to show this, but the photo here on the left below, that’s straight uphill — like, straight vertically up! We had to get up that!! This trail was made up of “two tiers” according to the All Trails app, and it said that ultimately, you’d be climbing up on all fours……it wasn’t kidding. Haha.
BUT LOOK AT OUR REWARD!!!
Managed to get Wes to walk out there with me! It was a bit crowded unfortunately, but no wonder, everyone wants to see this!! It was unreal! Everyone for the most part took their time and allowed people to walk out on the narrow edge one by one, or group by group etc. Wes and I went out, then I stayed out alone for a quick photo of just me, and Kels and Paul went out too!
A couple snaps on our hike back down — this was a LEGIT hike, oh man, we loved it so much! Wes and I agreed when we go back to Sedona, we would 100% do this hike again! Having to climb up and down on your hands and knees really makes you feel like you are H I K I N G.
Rounding out this massive post, a quick photo of the Airbnb we 6 stayed in for the second part of our trip! Paul’s family stayed in one next door to us! It was such an awesome house and location!
And lastly, Wes and I enjoying that JEEP LIFE. We’ve both been interested in a Jeep for a while, but this trip really sold us on that lifestyle!! Don’t be shocked if in the near future you hear about us trading in one of our SUV’s for a Jeep, because it’s definitely on the horizon!!
Hope you enjoyed the virtual experience of our trip to Arizona!! There’s definitely another one coming in the future!
