A House Without Windows // book review
Overall, a little bit of a slower story, less gripping than I would have preferred….ultimately a mostly good read. The story-line as well as the characters were all likable and in some ways, relatable. I’d say this story was full of a quest of love between family, and of sacrifice between family. The ways in which women are treated differently than men — very interesting in that regard. And not only the difference between how women are treated vs a man, but also how in some parts of this great big world — the differences in how a woman is VIEWED by her village, vs how the man is viewed. Pretty eye opening y’all.
My favorite line of the whole book -
“Time passes differently through a woman’s body. We are haunted by all the hours of yesterday and teased by the few moments of tomorrow. This is how we live — torn between what has already happened and what is yet to come.”
I mostly recommend!
