The Girl He Used To Know // book review
You gotta know first and foremost that I love Tracy Garvis-Graves books… her writing style, her story telling abilities, all of it, so dang good. This book was definitely no different. Having received this book and feeling struck by the title alone in ways I can’t exactly explain — I couldn’t wait to start reading this!
Hooked from chapter one, I blew through this book. Annika (our main character) was a tad bit hard to relate to, which I had been hoping for that to be different, but once you learn the truth about who she is and why she is how she is… you’ll understand and likely appreciate her character more. I sure did!
At the core of this book — it’s truly a love story. One with a whole lot of twists and turns as life takes us on different paths than we maybe expect. And just when you’ve finally reached a point of being completely, one hundred percent INVESTED as if this were your own love story….well, I won’t ruin it for you, but just prepare yourself for something that will stop you in your tracks and make you want to throw the book across the room in a full blown panic.
Favorite quote of the book -
“It’s funny how the very trait that attracts you to someone is the same trait you can’t stand when you’re untangling yourselves from each other. And not funny ha-ha. Funny like how in the world could you not have seen it?”
One hundred percent recommend — Graves did it again in my opinion, this book is great!!
