The Fault in Our Stars >> book review | book nook
Before picking this book up, I was a little afraid it'd end up having a real "teeny bopper" feel to it...and I'm happy to say that for the most part, it did not! Main character Hazel definitely has a teenage girl vocabulary - despite the fact that this book was written by a man (sidebar: this is a definition of a great writer in my opinion!) but she also has an old soul feel, and the words throughout the book are very well written, and at times very relatable.
Overall, it was a tear-jerker in my opinion - you basically know what's coming, or so you think, and the twists and turns of the characters within feel real to you by the end...which for me, means I cry, ha.
I actually read this book several months ago, and I'm just now getting around to blogging about it - SO with that in mind, I have to say that after reading the book, I watched the movie and yowza, also really well done, and also a tear-jerker, even though I knew exactly what was going to happen!!
I say read it, friends! :)
